You’ll find local vegetables and fruits on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at the Bennettsville Farmers Market. Area farmers bring their wares to the shed located in downtown on Tuesday and Thursday from 1-6 pm and Saturday from 7 am till 1 pm.
At McArthur Farms the season starts in early spring with plants for the home and garden. Most produce is grown right on the farm for the freshest selection. Lunch is also available at the farm. Several “you pick, we pick” fruits and vegetables are available including strawberries. Hours for McArthur Farms are Monday through Saturday from 9 am till 6 pm and Sunday from 1 pm to 6 pm.
Plan to visit a while in historic Bennettsville when you check out the farmers markets. Shopping downtown includes gift shops, clothing stores, jewelry and antiques. A variety of local cuisines, including BBQ, will quench any appetite. Stay the night at one of the beautiful bed and breakfasts or a local hotel and start your day on the biking and hiking trails around downtown.
